The latest innovation to Kingman Internationals line of paintball guns is the Xtra. Hen purchased, Xtra includes in its kit a barrel plug, elbow, allen wrenches that are used to disassemble the parts of the gun.

Spyder Xtra has advanced looks that is available in the light green, anodized finish, and special features of the Spyder Xtra are the semi- auto action, one year warranty, vertical feed classification, rear cocking 2nd generation venture bolt, field strippable T- pin, sight rail with beavertail, bottom line set- up with micro- line hose, 2- finger trigger with regulation guard, anti- double pressure chamber, rear velocity adjuster, removable gas- through fore-grip, mini- expansion chamber, newly designed cocking grip, special anodizing, and a deluxe drop forward.

The double trigger permits the player to pull the trigger at a time using two fingers. This increases speed of shots per second reaching up to 6-8 balls per second. The mini expansion chamber disallows the liquid CO2 to get into the interior of the gun and consequently damage the o- rings. The mini expansion chamber is indeed as small as 2 inches long that is enclosed in the front gas through grip. The vertical feed ables the ball to quickly be fed into the gun t prevent ball chopping.

At four various ranges of 45, 64, 85, and 105 feet, the Spyder Xtra performs very well in terms of its shooting accuracy, and speed consistency. Ball breaks ill not be encountered although in more than 8 feet shooting, jumps may likely to occur. Xtra is easy to maintain and clean. Just by few oil drops after each use, it shall perform well again. The connecting pin links the bolt and striker so it is easy to disassemble and assemble.

On the other hand, the Spyder TL Plus has its on flaws. The cross bar hinders the view along the barrel. The other component of the TL Plus that should also be developed is the expansion chamber.

In early 2000, a lot of revolution in terms of the designs, upgrades, and new equipments in the paintball industry. Years before the period of 2000, paintball guns were so simple and crude- meaning not much of new innovations are designed on the markers. It as a remarkable move however that electronically mechanized guns ere developed.

The Spyder E-99 is an electronic gun that can fire 13BPS hen in full auto firing mode. Although the Spyder E-99 is fully equipped with automatic ESP Frame, it has still the same elements and parts as the Xtra.

When purchased, the E-99 has one year warranty, a ell- illustrated user™s manual, barrel plug, barrel plug, extra o- rings, and three allen wrenches. The fundamentals of security, gun maneuvering, care, and the procedure on regulating the E- frame are demonstrated in the manual. Since E-99 is electronic, the 9 volt battery that supports the E-99s board is not included in the kit. Disposable or rechargeable batteries may be used provided that the batteries are of 9- volts.

Special features of E-99

The ESP frame alters the gun to full- auto paint shooting gadget. Four firing types to choose from are programmed in the ESP frame: semi- auto (in which the power of the gun is like the power of the Xtra), 3 shot burst, 6 shot burst, and the full auto mode (that can shoot 13 BPS)

A small allen wrench is used in adjusting or changing the firing modes. The controls 1-4 regulate the pace of fire and controls 5-6 alter the firing mode. The switches can be accessed via small opening in the plastic window. With this innovation of the ESP frame, there are still some components needed to be enhanced. The plastic hand clasps are not very comfortable and the other one is that new users of the Spyder E-99 should very much familiarize themselves with the ways on ho to manipulate the 6 different firing modes. The owners manual should be carefully studied by new users.

The mini expansion chamber is a popular upgrade in most modern paintballs. It disallows the liquid CO2 from getting into the interior f the paintball marker. When the liquid CO2 penetrates inside the gun, the o- rings will surely be damaged. The min- expansion chamber is as small as 2 inches and is enclosed in the front gas through grip.

The vertical feed permits the paintballs to get into the gun speedier. Because the speed is indeed fast, ball chopping during quick, successive firing is likely prevented. The E-99 can shoot around 7BPS from a 285- feet per second range. This is remarkable because other guns averagely shoot only 4fps from the same range. E-99 needs to be developed more with a motorized hopper to avoid ball chopping. E-99 has remarkable rate of fire and has very useful different firing modes. It has light weight and well proportion, no hassle in cleaning the E-99 that makes it indeed worry free. It is made of alloy and really a good gun.

Compared to guns that somehow of the same quality as the Spyder Compact 2000, this gun is more unique. Unique because it has very light trigger pull and it has a double trigger design. Other Spyder designs or productive are also not as accurate r precise as the Spyder Compact 2000. It is also equipped with a novel 45 frame and 9.5 inch long barrel with muzzle break.

The manufacturer, Kingman also incorporated a mini raised sight rail and a factory low pressure. Compared to other guns, Spyder Compact 2000 is petite and weightless.

Because Spyder Compact 2000 has a small number of impermanent parts, it has a great durability. If an instance comes that the gun suddenly does not work, the Spyder Compact 2000 can be easily fixed only by cleaning it and inspecting the o- rings.
Old designs of Spyder paintball guns break balls because of the powerfeed design, however the Spyder Compact 2000 is no even better because of the problem with the powerfeed is solved by including with it new upgrades even if it is out in the market at a very affordable price.

The enhanced edition of the STS G2 is the Piranha STS G3. This paintball gun is equipped with Powerfeed and may be purchased in two color schemes: black or “Titanium”. Special features of the Piranha STS G3 are a ported barrel, double finger trigger, original Ram Air Chamber, adjustable velocity knob, raised sight rail, stainless steel valve, true venture bolt, gas thru fore grip, 10 degree bottom- line adapter, rear beaver tail, and one year warranty.

The STS G3 has light eight trigger pull that enables the gun to shoot 7-8 BPS. The trigger frame of the STS G3 just like the other Piranha markers, is made of plastic. Another special feature of the STS G3 just like other Piranha paintball markers is the Ram Air Chamber.

STS G3 is different from other Piranha guns because it may either be designed with vertical feed or with powerfeed (which means the feed comes from the side).

Because this is a ell- innovated gun, STS G3 performs very ell in any ranges of 45, 65, 85, and 105 feet. This gun is also consistent because of the Ram Air Chamber. Like any other Piranha guns, STS G3 is simple to disassemble, clean, and maintain.

The paintball gun with so much electronic innovation is the Piranha Pro TS G3 with Storm. This gun is designed with the electronic Mako Storm frame, it is an innovation through an electronic trigger frame that is deviced on a conventional semi- auto marker. Storm frame is designed to give the paintball player to choose among the four different firing modes such as semi- auto, burst, full- auto, and reactive.

In the kit of the Piranha Pro TS G3 included are: a very comprehensive user’s manual, a Mako Storm manual, Storm battery plug- in cord, 3 allen wrenches, a barrel plug, extra o- rings (2 tank and 1 bolt), and a year warranty from Piranha. The Piranha Pro TS G3 with Storm has a rechargeable 9- volt battery that can be recharged for 12 hours. Recharging ill not be an efficient thing to do for the user, he may use a regular 9 volt battery

Special Features

> Here are the special features of the Pro TS with Storm:
> Mako Storm ELCD frame
> Pure Energy adjustable regulator with 1500psi pressure guage
> True venture bolt
> Ram Air low pressure chamber- flush cocking bolt
> Double finger trigger
> Vertical ball feed
> Chrome ball detent
> Beaver tail
> Custom drop forward with 10 degree bottom line adapter
> Read velocity adjuster
> Air filter
> PMI Turbo valve

The Mako Storm ELCD frame is made of aluminum and the grip is of plastic. The Storm’s electronic circuit board has four firing options, it may also be used to chose shot counter and game timer. It also has F1 and F2 buttons that give the player the option to choose among five different modes: full auto, semi- auto, burst, turbo, and safe.

The full auto permits the player to successively shoot without limits. This is possible provided that the trigger is pulled.
The semi- auto mode gives the gun the ability to fire one time while the burst mode gives the player to shoot 2-12 shots in every pull of the trigger.

The turbo mode is a combination of the semi- auto mode and a programmable rate of fire. Safe or the non- fire mode prevents the gun from firing even if the frame is turned on The Pure Energy Regulator of the Pro TS can have its output pressure to be adjusted between 500psi and 1200psi. The Ram Air Chamber prevents the occurrence of ball breaks by lowering the output force of the gun.
With these different special features of the Pro TS with Storm, it is indeed consistent in its performance specifically because of the Pure Energy Regulator.

The Bushmaster 2000 is an electro-pneumatic paintball marker released by Indian Creek Designs. Designed for with tournament-style speedball, it can shoot more than 20 paintballs per second. This paintball marker utilizes two valves to monitor airflow; a high-pressure regulator which is averagely set at 200-275psi and a low pressure control device which is set to the standard 75-90psi. The Bushmaster functions with the use of a ram-actuated poppet regulator. The Bushmaster 2000 is usually termed as a “B2K” or a “B2KX” (X stands for the year of that particular model). The 2004 modern model is recognized as the B2K4. It was recently suspended yet was restored with the same though more developed Promaster.

The Bushmaster 2000 is successfully of similar design as the Bob Long Defiant so the usual pieces can be interchanged between the two markers.

Improvements

Many enhancements are easily accessible for the Bushmaster series markers such as the valves, boards, frames, triggers, feednecks, bolts, ASAs and regulators. 2003 model and previous models utilize ICD threaded barrels, the 2004 on the otherhand and some 2003 models make use of the Autococker barrel threads. Aside from the barrels, the single compatibility dissimilarity between the models is the cabling harness or board. Some models make use of the 22-pin wiring whereas the 12-pin is more commonly used. A 22 pinboard can be wadded into a 12 pin control and will operate accurately excluding in the paintball detection system. An anti-chop eye system, which is the PDS(Paintball Detection System) is the most accessible stock in 2003 and more recent models can be fitted by competent suppliers. PDS utilizes a sender and receiver photocell that spots the successful loading of a paintball into the marker’s breech. If the ball is not successfully loaded, the marker will not fire. This facet significantly diminishes the possibility of chopping a paintball when it is not totally supplied into the breech.

Operation

The function of the Bushmaster 2000 is the same to that of the Impulse, Intimidator or other poppet-valve operated electropneumatic markers. The paintball marker is considered as open-bolt which means the bolt is total-back position prior to the firing series.

When the trigger is tugged, an electronic microswitch propels a signal to the markers electronic board signaling it to start the firing series. The board then takes action and propels the solenoid. When the solenoid valve is initiated, the air that controls the hammer in the full-back position is re-directed via the ram assembly thereby pushes forward the hammer at a fast speed. The hammer then opens the valve in about 6-16ms (this time is called the dwell). Since the markers bolt is connected to the hammer, it simultaneously moves forward, carries a paintball, passes through the detents, and positions to a firing form. The air that travels upwards via the valve directs through the bolt and the paintball is fired out of the barrel through a mixture of air pressure and kinetic energy imparted from the bolt action. As soon as the lapse of the dwell time, the solenoid goes back to the hammer onto the full-back form by directing the LPR-supplied air back via the default channel.

The Automag is a paintball marker fashioned by Tom Kaye and manufactured by Airgun Designs Inc. (AGD).

History

The first Automag was produced and sold in 1990. Since it is the initial model of semi-automatic paintball makers, its blow forward design was different. Made of stainless steel, the valve system was the maiden marker to include a pressure regulator directly into the marker. The marker’s design also permits for reconstructuring in the paintball field even without gadgets. The marker has other new features like the fast loosening screw lock barrel and the Power Feed, which disallow paintballs from being blown back up into the hopper.

The Panther was the original model of semi-automatic marker that is designed by Tom Kaye of Airgun Designs in 1988. Because it was the only model at that time, it was not released and offered for utilization to the masses. The invention was offered to Direct Connect but was never manufactured and reproduced. In 1989, the AGD purchased the design rights but the blow back style was considered to be too old fashioned and crude so a next generation example design, the “P2″ (for Panther Prototype Two) was released. This was in the same way a blow back and had a lot of limitations. Because of the many unsuccessful attempts, the blow back technology was given up and considered working onto the blow forward design. In cold weather, when gas is low pressured, the player can get a blowback to recock. This marked the birth of the Automag design that underwent two modifications; P3 and P4. The P4 design was released to the players in 1990.

The Automag encountered a lot of problems and limitations when it was first released and the producers resolved them by continual updating called Level 6 through Level 7. The Minimag and the Sydarm were designed as clear modifications or clone. The Sydarm functioned particularly at police training. Then came the RT that includes an all new valve that made shootdown an uneasy thing to do because it had reactive trigger technology. The Level 10 bolt was intended to eradicate ball-chop during firing’s high rates. AGD now features the X-valve, which is the RT valve combined with the Level 10 bolt.

The paintball market has completely developed electronic markers and the Automag still maintains its distinction as one of the most dependable and accurate mechanical markers ever made. Airgun Designs is recognized for its good tech support, and the Automag enjoys a small following of loyal customers who customize and maintain their markers through the forums at Automags.org.

Airgun Designs shortly released the X-Mag to rival in the electric powered tournaments, though they have since ceased its manufacturing. Mechanical Automags have had a revival in recignition with woodsball and scenario players for their accuracy, perfect design, and water resistant features.

Operation

The Automag’s blow-forward operation is different among paintball markers. It is also uncomplicated:

 1. The trigger is pulled, the singe loosens the lock, and shuts the on/off regulator
2. Air in the chamber thrusts forward the bolt, and gas passes through the bolt
3. The trigger is freed
4. The bolt is put back by a coil, and the sear grasps the bolt
5. The on/off regulator unlocks

Variants

68 Automag Classic

For the continuum years of production, many modification and variations of the conventional Automag’s name have been taken; one of which are the “TKO Automag”, or the minimag. The TKO Automag is almost the same as the other Automag but it was sold in package via the Action Village. The minimag was an also an automag but it was longer in appearance though it had a shorter barrel. It has also perpendicular ASA, Powerfeed, and an opening very close to the barrel. Despite its resemblance to an automag, it became well- accepted by consumers because of its resilience. It is made of 100 percent stainless steel but the hold frame was altered to a fused resembling the autococker frame during 1996.

Despite the Original Classic Automag not being released a new version called the Pro/Classic, that features an RT barrel, powerfeed, foregrip, black mainbody, vertical asa, and bottomline ASA, had taken in.

E-Mag

The E-Mag is an electric Automag comparable to other Automags that have undergone various modifications because of the intention of coping with the development to the Automag platform such as the RT valve, the lvl 10 anti-chop system and the X-valve. The E-mag has the capability of firing in either electronic or mechanical modes compared to other automags.

FN303

The first Automag pattern has developed into other designs and is the basic of the FN303 Less Lethal Weapon System set up by police and military all over the world.

Other AGD Innovations

>> Warp Feed

AGD’s Warp Feed is a thrust feed system that feeds paintballs into a marker. It is supplied by a hopper set above the real warp feed system. The primary objective is to provide a player a lower profile, while using enormously high feed speed. This was the initial and in market production under-the-barrel force feed system. The warp feed is a ball speed enhancer. Paintballs are supplied from a loader, and when it the feedneck is already empty, twists small disks within, and augments the paintballs. It did not have major recognition particularly among veteran players, though it was appreciated by scenario players who were fascinated to its low profile.

Ultra Light Trigger (ULT)

The ultra light trigger, designed by Tom Kaye, is an evolution of the Automag. It decreased the trigger pull from about 6 lbs to only 16 oz trigger pull. This gave mechanical markers a lighter feel of an electronic marker that gives an alternative to the players. Included is a speedy recharging X-Valve so that players can rival with electronic markers. This new design of the ULT also permitted players to jerk the trigger as quickly as possible. Players can speed up to 6-9 balls per second.

Level Ten Bolt

The Level Ten, or Level X bolt is AGD’s resolution to the problem of ball breakage. This drop-in enhancement gets rid of the demand for the powerfeed design. The usual recent electronic markers depend on electronic “eyes” to avoid chops, featuring whichever of the Infra-red sensor or an LED/Light Sensor mishmash. When a paintball gets into the breech, the eyes sustain the shooting route and makes s continuous firing series. The Level X enhancement, however, does not depend on electronics, thus is not vulnerable to inconveniences related to dirty or uncalibrated eyes.

When assembled appropriately, the bolt speeds up with less energy through the primary part of the breech. Upon meeting a particular end, it attains maximum acceleration to lock the breech and fire. If a miscalculation happens while accelerating, the bolt loosens the blow-forward gas in a streaking sound, letting the ball to stay in position until it is ready for the next firing. If the initial acceleration is gentle, a ball is not fully supplied and will never be smashed by the bolt’s thrust.

Ultra Light Engineering

One of the available products of the Ultra Light Engineering designed by Tom Kaye was the aluminum vertical feed bodies. These ULE vertical bodies provide players a more rigid feature when playing paintball. This caused the powerfeed pipe structure outdated because chopping is already resolved since it was aided with the level ten bolt and uptight/force feed loaders. The utilization of aluminum is preferred than stainless steel that importantly reduced the mass of the automag. This makes the players have a more rigid yet lighter marker.

Six Pack +

One of the initial and exclusive products fashioned and released by AGD was the 6Pak+, a lever and cam that controlled the 12-gram changer that can hold six 12-gram gas cartridges in a spring- handled magazine and another in the gun adaptor. This is an effective option to pump gun players who were apprehensive of making the switch to ‘constant air’, the SixPak+ had reached out of stock when it was initially released at the Lively Masters national event. At present, Automags are still the number one marker as ever.

Drop Forwards drop the tank a few inches and forward it. The drop forward makes the marker taller in height but shorter in length. Drop forwards may also contain an on and off switch feature for safety and easiness of operation.

Rail

If the drop forward is not featured, the rail system may be used. This permits the ASA or the tank regulator to be mounted at the grip base. The rail is usually preferred to be used by most players than the drop forward.

Remote Line

The cable or tribe attached from the marker to the tank is the remote line. The remote line allows more easiness of movement while manipulating the marker. However, remote line is seldom used by players in tournaments.

Pod

The complex tubular plastic containers that hold paintballs are the pods. Usual size of the pod can hold 140 paintballs while other paintball pods can hold 100 paintballs and others that can be rented can hold only 10 paintballs are called tubes. Commonly used pods are made of plastic top and a spring to open them easily. Some pods like those manufactured by Dye Lock Lid use simple locking mechanism so that they won’t unintentionally be opened and pods manufactured by Syn Shockpods are designed to be opened through vigorous shaking but the paint inside will not surely be broken.

Harness

The pods holding the paintballs are packed in the harnesses. 200 paintballs can be stored in most hoppers. Since in woodsball tournaments, the players will be staying in the field in an extended period of time; the harness gives the convenience to the players a portable supply of paint. Most harnesses have pouch of this kind are usually labeled with a+1. Speedball harnesses or Tourney ball consists of bellyband with hoops at the back to hold the pods. Woodsball harnesses have military look because they have pockets for maps, radios, and hydration pouches.

Squeegee

To clean out debris from the barrel and breach is the purpose of the squeegee. Usually squeegees are of hinge- mounted rubber disc at the end of a plastic rod that has enough length to reach the whole segment of the barrel. Rubber washer end is put into the barrel to one side. It is pushed to the base and pulled out with the rubber disc turned ninety degrees.

If the player is using an open breech or removable marker, a cable squeegee may be used. Cable squeegee is a rubber disc that is mounted vertically at the end of the cable. The “pull end” or the non- rubber- disc end is put into the breech or through the back when bolt has already been removed. It is pushed fully in such that the pull end is extended out in the front of the barrel. Squeegee is tugged out by dragging on the pull end.

In speedball, the battle swab is used. It is a double ended stick that has soft fur soaking up the paint. This soft fur is shoved down the whole length of the barrel to clean any tarnishing paint or shell. Swabs are usually containing pliable rubber section that can be seen in the middle so that it can be carried anywhere through folding and storing it in the pocket.

Barrel Covers/ Condoms/ Socks

Made of cloth or neoprene pouch that is placed over the aperture of the barrel and fastened to the marker with the use of a cord is the safety device the “barrel cover.” Barrel covers/ condoms/ socks are used when the player is not actively playing on the field to prevent the marker from unintentionally firing a paintball. When a player forgets to replace the barrel cover/ sock/ condom after a game and when he is in a safe zone, he will likely be reprimanded and be given a warning. When this violation is repeated, the player is then evicted from the field. Barrel socks are originally termed as barrel condoms, but for the sake of younger players, it is now called the barrel socks. Barrel socks are more preferred than barrel plugs because plugs are still possible to fall out.

OTHER EQUIPMENT

Paint Grenades

In recreational and scenario play are paint grenades usually used, though in tournaments they are not legally used. Pain grenades do not explode, they are like water balloons. Common design of paint grenades is that it consists a rubber tube filled with paint and folded in half. When the grenade makes an impact, the lid comes off and allows the pressure placed on the paint by the tube to spray the paint over an area and mark the player.

Paint Mines

No paint mines use any kind of explosive.

Slingshots

Instead of markers to thrust the paintball, slingshots are also of popular use. Slingshots have faster velocity, even faster than 300 fps that is why most paintball fields discourage the use of slingshots.
